The City is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to perform all related work to successfully complete the Florida Power & Light (FPL) conversion of Phase 1 overhead facilities along US Highway 98 to underground consistent with FPL's design. Work will include, but not be limited to, construction of all required FPL, Cox Communication, Century Link, and UnitiFiber's underground infrastructure, coordination, FPL street lighting conduit infrastructure, including final certifications, and as-built drawings. Generally, the project corridor, and as part of the FPL design of the underground conversion, is along Harbor Boulevard (US 98) from the Marler Bridge to Airport Road ("Phase 1"). This is also inclusive to any existing overhead service crossings that span over Harbor Boulevard (US 98). Other utility companies providing aerial service to the residents within the project includes Cox Communication, Century Link, and UnitiFiber. Additionally, there are numerous utilities within the corridor that are currently underground including but not limited to, water, sewer, reclaim, gas, and communications. Also, within this section FPL has existing streetlights attached to current poles, and some free-standing streetlight poles. As part of this project the Contractor will need to coordinate and install the required conduit and vaults which will ultimately allow FPL to pull wire and install the new streetlight poles as part of their new design & photometrics. The Contractor shall be experienced and able to perform all aspects of this undergrounding project in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations and utilizing experience on similar type projects. Additionally, the Contractor shall construct, and as-built all work as part of this project, understand and meet the respective utility owners requirements for all aspects. The Contractor shall facilitate coordination of FPL, Century Link, Cox Communication, and UnitiFiber construction activities, and in full coordination with all work designated as part of this project and provide detailed as-builts of all final project work performed by the Contractor in an acceptable format to the respective utility owners and to the Project Manager "PM"/City. The undergrounding shall require the Contractor provide scope of services; including but not limiting to, undergrounding all FPL existing aerial primary, secondary, service lines, connections, looping of all existing FPL undergrounded radial areas, existing undergrounding tie-ins, meter connections where applicable, support and coordination with FPL portion of the work, support and coordination with the Carriers facilities and service lines in conjunction with the FPL aerial undergrounding, installation, support and coordination with FPL street lighting infrastructure, coordination and provide effective and costs efficiency in the means and manor of scheduling and construction of all work associated with the undergrounding project, coordination with services for commercial and/or residential properties, parcels affected by the undergrounding, provide as-builts and permit requirements where applicable, and conform to FPL plans, specifications and other requirements as part of this project.
