Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Kitchener, Ontario. Working plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Construction of two new Grand River crossing bridges over the eastbound and westbound lanes. Scope will also include relocation of the Walter Bean Trail on the west side of the Grand River and relocation of an existing entrance to 618 Bridge St further down Bridge St. This is Phase 2 of the Highway 7 project. TIMELINE: Project is in final planning. Various provincial and environmental approvals are required prior to proceeding to tendering stages. Phase Three and the Frederick Street Bridge Replacement are being followed in separate reports. Early site works have begun. Project may be tendered fall 2026. Further update late spring 2026.
