Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Bend, Oregon. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility; for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.
Pavements in these areas are at failure. Historically, the city relies on federal funding for investment in the airport, a city asset; However, taxilane and apron improvements are not a top funding priority with FAA. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) infused additional funding opportunities and encourages infrastructure improvement for projects such as this, that would normally be unfunded. Bend airport expects to roll-over 5 years of annual entitlement to fund this project under this once in a generation BIL Program. As of August 13, 2024, per owner, as of July 2024, and dependent on FAA funding, the project is anticipated to start construction in the summer or autumn of 2025 and be completed in the spring or summer of 2026. The project will require closures of taxilanes to complete the work. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
