The following minimum specifications must be followed in regard to snow removal on the BCS District's properties: A. All snow in excess of two 1 inch will be removed by at least 6:30 a.m. for all buildings when school is in session and before scheduled building activities. Because of the importance of ensuring the school is in session whenever possible, Bronson Community Schools must be given first priority status for work completion on the bidder's plow list, both at the beginning of the day, for arrival, and when needed to ensure a safe dismissal from school, due to additional accumulations. B. Evening and weekend events may require additional snow removal when additional accumulations reach 1 inch or more. Follow-up snow plowing will be needed during the day when additional accumulation reaches 1 inch or more. C. Salting is needed on sidewalks and parking lots when ice is present. D. Bidding for Snow Removal must include the following locations: High School and Maintenance Area 450 Grant Street Ryan Elementary and Basketball Court 461 Rudd Street Anderson Elementary and Basketball Court 335 E. Corey Street BCS District Office 501 E. Chicago Street E. A mandatory meeting with the Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor is required prior to bid submittal to ensure there is no mistake in the area to be plowed. F. Pricing should include: Cost per 1/2 hour for regular snow plowing (snow that can be handled by piling, instead of removal) and an approximate cost per site for snow plowing between 1 - 5 inches. The school will identify locations where the snow should be piled, away from the sidewalks and entrances. The successful bidder shall maintain current certificates of insurance with the school district's business office for Worker's Compensation, Comprehensive General Liability, and Comprehensive Automobile. The minimum amount shall be $1,000,000.00 in liability and property damage. Preferred liability and property damage insurance is $2,000,000.00 or more. The Board of Education reserves the right to waive defects and informalities in proposals, to reject any and all proposals, or to accept any proposal as may be deemed to be in its best interest, and to award by item, combination of items, or lot.
