All materials shall conform to the requirements of the 2020 Virginia Department of Transportation Road and Bridge Specifications.
Structural steel shall be ASTM A709, Grade 50.
Rolled beams may be supplied in accordance with ASTM A992 with supplemental test S5 for Charpy V-Notch Impact testing. Test values shall meet the requirements given in ASTM A709 for Zone 2.
All structural steel including bearings shall be hot dipped galvanized in accordance with Section 233 of the Specifications.
Shop drawings shall be submitted to VDOT within 30 days of award of contract.
