The City of Saskatoon is requesting information on viable methods for the inspection and condition assessment of a pre-stressed concrete twin 900mm inverted siphon which flows from the east riverbank under the river to the west riverbank. The twin 900mm siphons were constructed in 1971 moving sewage from the east side of the city to the waste water treatment plant. In 2005, the exterior of the river crossing pipe was inspected visually using a scuba diver and the chambers on each side of the river were inspected. Due to the criticality of this infrastructure, the City is seeking information on methods to inspect and quantify the structural condition and remaining life of the sewer trunks. It is anticipated that the resulting contract will be awarded There will be no award, this is for information purposes only.
