The City is accepting quotations for a trenchless installation of 200 feet of 8" sanitary sewer main in the vicinity of North Park Street. Please see the attached documents for more details. No work is to be performed prior to written or verbal notice to proceed delivered by City staff. B. All work under this contract is to be completed by December 8th, 2023. Failure to complete the project within the specified time frame may result in termination of the contract and disqualification from future projects. Payment will be based on the quoted unit prices and actual project quantities. These quantities are estimates; therefore, the City reserves the right to increase or decrease those quantities at any time as they pertain to this project. SANITARY SEWER GRAVITY MAIN, 8", TRENCHLESS: Contractor will furnishing and install 8" pipe at 1% grade meeting SUDAS specifications. Installation starts at connection to existing stub-out pipe at approximate 10.14 foot depth, to new manhole to be placed approximately 200 feet away. Item includes trenchless installation materials and equipment, pit excavation, dewatering, placing and compacting backfill material, testing, and inspection. SANITARY SEWER MANHOLE: Includes excavation, furnishing and installing pipe, furnishing, placing, and compacting bedding and backfill material, base, structural concrete, reinforcing steel, precast units (if used), concrete fillets, pipe connections, infiltration barriers (sanitary sewer manholes only), castings, and adjustment rings. Exact manhole depth to be determined in the field, but is expected to be approximately 12 foot. PAVEMENT REMOVAL AND ROADWAY RESTORATION: Pavement removal at the boring location and manhole location will be incidental to the construction. The contractor will backfill the locations with gravel temporary roadway surface or below if coordinated with the city, and the final surfacing will be completed by the City. TRAFFIC CONTROL: Contractor shall be responsible to provide traffic control signage that includes, but is not limited to, Road Closed Ahead signs and Type III barricades. This traffic control signage will follow current MUTCD traffic control requirements. The signs and barricades shall be placed as directed by City staff. The costs associated with traffic control are incidental to construction. When the contract price equals or exceeds $25,000, the contract shall be accompanied by a performance, payment, and maintenance bond, with surety, for the faithful performance of the contract and all other requirements as provided by law and as stated in Iowa Code Section 573.2. For project contracts of $50,000 or less, a waiver of these bond requirements may be granted if written evidence is presented that demonstrates that your business is unable to secure a bond due to lack of experience, net worth, or capital per Iowa Code Section 12.44.
