Separate Bids will be received for each of the following: Sitework Contract BP-01 General Trades Contract BP-02 The work will take place at Niagara Wheatfield CSD: Edward Town Middle School: 2292 Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn, New York 14132 The Owner requires that all bids shall comply with the bidding requirements specified in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The Owner may, at its discretion, waive informalities in bids, but is not obligated to do so, nor does it represent that it will do so. The Owner also reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Under no circumstances will the Owner waive any informality that, by such waiver, would give one Bidder a substantial advantage or benefit not enjoyed by all Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw their Bid before forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, unless a mistake to error is claimed by the Bidder in accordance with INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS. Bidders are required to furnish a Proposal Guaranty of 10 percent of the amount of the Proposal, either by bank cashierís check, payable to the owner, or Bid Bond, conforming to law, and satisfactory to Owner. Performance, Labor and Material Payment Bonds are required. The Scope of this Contract includes, but is not limited to, providing the following: GENERAL: a. All line and grade necessary to complete the work of this bid package. b. Restore all landscaping damaged during progress of the work; restoration may include, but not limited to topsoil, watering and flagging to permit growth. c. Protection of existing or "others" in-place work, while performing the work of this contract. d. Daily cleanup of own work to dumpsters is included in the base bid. e. Provide temporary utilities required to execute your own work including temporary lighting, power, water, drinking water etc. This contract shall provide its own generators and fuel for all work associated with this scope of work. f. Provide all temporary weather protection for any portion of the work of this contract. g. This contract shall install the electrical system complete, including trenching/excavation/backfill provided by this contract. The penetrations through subgrade and surface are also to be done by this contract. h. This contractor is cautioned that additional scope of work to be provided under this contract is detailed in the Special Provisions and Logistics & Phasing Plans. i. The Owner will retain a testing agency to provide materials testing as required per specifications. This contractor is responsible to coordinate directly with the testing agent and Construction Manager for all testing and provide 48 hour notice before testing is required. This contractor will be responsible for any and all charges for any un-notified or last minute cancellations of the testing agent. j. This contract to provide site fencing as noted on Exhibit D Logistics and Phasing Plan. k. Temporary Toilets and Handwashing Stations are to be provided by this Contractor for the duration of the project. Reference the Special Provisions and Logistics Plans for quantities, locations and requirements. DEMOLITION: a. Demolition and removal of all site materials indicated on the drawings and as required to complete this scope of work. b. All underground demolition work to point of connection and re-work any existing infrastructure as required to install new work. c. Provide support for all existing utilities to remain in place during excavation and installation of new underground services. Any damaged existing utilities due to work performed by this contract will be replaced at no cost to the project. d. Provide OSHA compliant barricading for all open excavation work. e. This contract owns undercutting should there be discovery of unsatisfactory materials. This includes excavation, removal and haul away of unsuitable material, backfill and compaction with suitable granular material as specified in Section 312000. NOTE: 100 cubic yards of undercutting to be included in the Base Bid. SWPPP AND SITE LOGISTICS: a. Provide, maintain and remove erosion and sediment control of the site per the contract documents, the project SWPPP, including but not limited to; silt fence, check dams, temporary sediment traps, water filter bags, inlet protection, construction entrances and erosion control blankets. The DEC blue book shall be the minimum requirements. Maintain working area in compliance with the SWPPP plan. This contract will be required to sign the Contractor Certification form included in the SWPPP. The employee listed on the form will be required to complete the NYSDEC Endorsed 4-hour erosion and sediment control training and be onsite during all ground disturbing activities. b. This contract shall contact DSNY and local utility companies to verify underground utilities prior to any trenching and excavating. c. Provide a concrete wash out pit for all concrete poured as part of this scope. Remove from site upon completion. Concrete spoils are not to be placed in onsite dumpsters. d. This contract will be required to have a spill control and containment kit onsite at all times. At a minimum, the spill kit should contain an absorbent material such as kitty litter or sawdust, acid neutralizing agent, brooms, dust pans, mops, gloves, goggles, plastic and metal trash container. e. Provide a closeable mailbox and post at the High School site with "SWPPP" written on both sides using 3" letters. There will need to be a mailbox and post provided for each project site when under construction. f. Provide and maintain all temporary access roads/lots, fencing, gates and construction areas as indicated on Exhibit D and all C-Series drawings for the duration of the project. Provide all cut/fill, stabilization fabric and type 2 crushed stone. Include cleanup and dress-up for the duration of the project, or until the permanent paving is installed. Prior to paving, remove top 3" of stone and replace with new. g. It is the responsibility of this contract to provide and maintain any additional access roads/paths to complete the work in a manner that minimizes vehicle traffic over soils/subgrades under the tennis court work at no additional cost. For any additional access roads/paths this contract shall include all cuts, stabilization fabric and a minimum of compacted 8" thick of 2" crushed stone. Removals of access paths and restoration is included in this contract. h. Include cleaning of all debris tracked onto the streets/parking lots by this contract. Provide a street sweeper onsite as needed for the duration of this contractors work. Keep all adjacent roads free of dirt and debris. Provide means to clean wheels of vehicles prior to leaving site. Reference the SWPPP plan. i. Provide survey layout using a professional surveyor. Include the initial site setup, and all surveying to complete this scope. j. This contract is responsible to verify all new and existing inverts and tie-in points prior to ordering any structures or placing pipe. Verify depths of existing know utilities crossing new utilities prior to starting any work. Provide early mobilization and excavation as required to verify. k. The Site Contractor (BP-01) shall provide all dumpsters as required to complete their work. Coordinate with the logistics plans for locations. Dumpsters for work by other trades are not part of this contract. l. Include cleaning of all debris tracked onto the pavement (district drives and public streets) as a result of work associated with this scope. m. All trucks are required to wash tires, under bed, and all contaminated areas prior leaving the site and accessing public roads. n. This contractor shall provide and maintain all new/temporary roads/entrance drive, parking lots and concrete pavement as shown on the documents. Provide all cut and fill required to maintain alignment. Provide and maintain temporary barriers as indicated on the documents and as required for the execution of the work. o. Include all temporary fencing and gates as noted by this contract in Exhibit D and all CSeries drawings where indicated for this contract. SITE UTILITIES: a. All site storm drainage and drainage structure work complete. This work shall include but is not limited to excavation, piping, backfill and pipe bedding. Backfill will consist of select structural fill to bottom of subgrade at proposed building and pavement areas. Pipes shall be capped at the end of each workday. b. Provide all under-court drainage systems complete. c. Include modifying rim elevations (storm, sanitary, or electrical) as necessary to accommodate grading and future maintenance of the grounds. It is the contractor's responsibility to maintain surface drainage. d. For the underground site electrical work shown on the drawings this contractor (BP-01) shall provide all trenching, excavation, backfill and compaction complete. This contractor shall provide the conduit and installation. The trench shall be bedded with approved stone dust/bedding sand per the specifications up to the top of the conduit. Backfill above the conduit will consist of compacted approved structural fill to the bottom of subgrade in any areas scheduled for pavement (concrete and asphalt) and under all playing surfaces. In grass areas this contract shall provide compacted approved structural fill and topsoil to finish grade (it is acceptable to re-use the topsoil that was displaced for the trench). Any areas where the trench crosses pavement/flatwork this contract shall saw cut for removals and restore the paving after the work is complete.
