Site work for a civil project in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

As of November 27, 2023, the project has been awarded and construction is expected to commence in December, 2024. The general contractor has 120 working days to complete construction, however, it may be completed sooner. Work shall consist of removal and demolition of existing tree stumps and organic material, structure demolition, preparation of subgrade, modification of a Stormwater overflow pipe, backfill of existing pit with clean fill and installation of topsoil and seeding. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates will apply to this contract. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid or bids. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, or to reject any or all bids. Question Deadline 10/27/2023 at 7:00 PM ET If any prospective bidder on the proposed contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the plans, specifications, or other proposed contract documents, he may submit to the Engineer electronically through the PennBID website 1. Contractor shall furnish all materials, implements, machinery, equipment, tools, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision required to construct the facilities as required by the contract and specified herein. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to proceed with the work in the manner and within such limitations as may be prescribed by the Engineer. 2. Work under the Base Bid will include, but is not necessarily limited to the following: a. Bid Item 1: Base Bid 1) At Contract Lump Sum Price 2) This item shall include any work related to demolition, clearing and grubbing, soil erosion and sedimentation control, modification of the existing stormwater overflow pipe, preparation, and compaction of existing subgrade, backfill with clean fill, grading, installation of 6- inches of topsoil and permanent seeding. 3) This item shall also include mobilization, traffic control, maintenance, cleaning and restoration, disposal of materials, preconstruction photographs/documentation, videotaping (pre- and post-construction), coordination with utilities, removal of facilities (demobilization) and conformance with grant requirements. 4) For the purposes of payment this work shall consist of the procurement of bonds assembling and setting up for the project, the Contractor's necessary general plant, including Contractor's offices, shops, plants, storage areas, sanitary and other facilities as required by the Specification tions and special requirements of the Contract, as well as by local, State, and/or Federal law and regulations. 5) Payment for Mobilization will be made as a lump sum (LS). Payment for Mobilization will be recommended after a Performance Bond has been secured, all submittals have been approved, Notice to Proceed has been issued, and the physical work has commenced. Payment for Base Bid items shall only be made once. 3. Work under the Alternate Bid Items will include, but is not necessarily limited to the following: a. Alt - 1: Rock Construction Entrance 1) At Contract per Each 2) Includes the installation of a Rock Construction Entrance which meets the requirements of the Erosion & Sediment Control Manual. b. Alt - 2: Sink Hole Remediation 1) At Contract per Each 2) Includes 36-Inches of excavation below the existing grade of the pit as directed by the Borough Engineer. 3) Includes 5-Cubic Yards of excavation as directed by the Borough Engineer. 4) Includes 2-Tons of #7 Riprap 5) Includes 2-Tons of #4 Stone Ballast. 6) Includes 3-Tons of 2A Stone aggregate. 7) Includes 50-Square-Feet of Geotextile 8) All stone shall be compacted in lifts not to exceed 6-inches. c. Alt - 3: Additional Fill 1) At Contract per Cubic Yard. 2) Includes additional clean fill to a height of 1.5-Feet above the finished grade of the basin. 3) Includes final grading as directed by the Borough Engineer to achieve adequate drainage. C. The Work will be constructed under a single prime contract.
