Reference Number 0000332978 The project consists of renewal and rehabilitation work at the Alvarado Influent Valve Box (AIVB) and its related components, all located at the Alvarado Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The rehabilitation work includes the following: Rehabilitate the AIVB as follows: Replace two 42-inch knife gate valves and flanged coupling adapter on the existing twin force main pipes, including valve support, extension stem and yoke and one electric motor actuator. One existing electric motor actuator shall be removed and reinstalled as shown on the drawings. The knife gate valves and one new electric motor actuator will be furnished by the District. Replace the teflon packing for each knife gate valve located between the stem and the valve body. Remove the existing pipe wall spools between two knife gate valves and the north wall of the AIVB. Furnish and install new 42-inch pipe spools. Perform interior lining repairs to the existing force main piping, including removing existing failing lining material, surface preparation, and installation of lining repair material. Perform exterior coating repairs to the existing force main piping, including removing existing failing coating system, surface preparation, installation of steel plate repair patches and installation of epoxy coating to the exterior of the existing piping. Removal and replacement of two existing peroxide injection ports on the two force main pipes, including cutting out existing outlets, removal of existing plug valves and blind flanges, preparing existing force main pipe wall, installation of new steel plate with 4" flanged outlet, installation of District-furnished 4" plug valve and blind flange with peroxide piping "stinger" and repairing damage to existing force main pipe caused by the work. Repair the existing concrete platform and railing connection.
