All bids must be accompanied by either A) a certified check payable to the "CUTCHOGUE FIRE DISTRICT" in the amount of 5% of the bid price, or B) a bid bond, with sufficient sureties to be approved by the "CUTCHOGUE FIRE DISTRICT" in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. If the bid is accepted, the bidder will enter into a contract in accordance with the bid and will furnish a suitable security bond in the sum of the amount of the contract, conditioned for the faithful and prompt completion of the work specified in the contract. If the bidder neglects or refuses to execute the contract and furnish the bonds, the deposit of 5% of the bid price shall be forfeited and retained by the Cutchogue Fire District as liquidated damages or, in the case of a bid bond, the Cutchogue Fire District shall enforce payment of the bond for its benefit. The bond must be in a separate clearly marked envelope placed within the bid envelope when submitting the bid. No offshore bonds will be accepted. Bonding company shall be "A" Rated or better. Performance, Labor and Material payment bonds of the forms within the Specifications Book for the full amount of the contract are required and shall be included in the bid price. All Contractors shall have Admitted Insurance with an "A" Rating or better. Exclude from all bids New York State Sales Tax on materials or supplies purchased for this project. Pursuant to Section 220 of the Labor Law, the contract will contain a provision that every mechanic, laborer, and workman employed in or about the work contemplated by the contract shall be paid not less than the Prevailing Rate of Wages and provided with not less than the Prevailing Supplement which are set forth in the Bidding Documents. The wage law effective January 1, 2023 states, "All Contractors are responsible for paying proper wages (including minimum wage per local, state, and federal authorities)." Each bidder shall agree to hold his/her bid price for forty-five (45) days after the formal bid opening. It is the Cutchogue Fire District's intention to award the contracts to the lowest qualified bidder who can meet the experience, technical, and budget requirements. The Cutchogue Fire District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality and to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the Cutchogue Fire District, is in the best interests of the Cutchogue Fire District. Bids include all costs associated with the project. By submitting a bid, the bidder represents that they are familiar with the site and project conditions. Additionally, prior to submitting its bid, Contractor shall make Architect and Owner aware of any problems and/or inconsistencies in the bid documents. Commence construction Monday December 4,2023 All work substantially complete Friday march 7, 2025 Final punch list/Closeout Friday April 11, 2025 Question shall be submitted in writing to Nemschick Silverman Architects P.C.
