Renovation of a mixed-use development in Woodbine, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

a. The removal and replacement of the existing classroom unit ventilators, including all electrical modifications, along with the attached existing metal bookcases and pipe enclosures. The removed existing metal bookcases shall be replaced with new plastic laminate bookcases and countertops and new pipe enclosures (metal & GWB) as indicated in the Contract Documents. b. The removal and replacement of the existing chilled water supply and return pipe insulation throughout the entire building. The existing chilled water supply and return piping is located above the existing lay-in ceiling system in the classrooms and corridor, with the exception of the 600 wing classrooms where the existing piping is exposed in the classrooms. Also as part of this work the Contractor shall remove the existing ceiling tiles, grid & devices as needed for the removal and installation of the Work. Once the Work has been completed, the Contractor shall reinstall the existing ceiling system to the previous condition prior to the renovations. All ceiling components that are damaged during the removal/reinstallation shall be replaced in kind. c. The removal and replacement of the Gymnasium existing air handling units. These units are currently located in a mechanical mezzanine (above the PE Office and Girls Locker Room) adjacent to the Gymnasium, which has very limited access. As part of the Work the existing air handling units and ductwork being removed, will have to be partially disassembled and removed thru the existing louver wall opening (~ 5'-0" wide x 6'-0"high). The Contractor shall remove, salvage and reinstall the existing louver. The new air handling units will be installed on steel dunnage on the roof above the mechanical mezzanine and ducted into the mechanical mezzanine and the new ductwork will be reconnected to the existing ductwork which feeds the gymnasium as indicated in the Contract Documents. d. In portions of the building as indicated in the Contract Documents, the existing below slab hot water heating pipe will be capped and abandoned and new piping will be installed above the existing corridor and classroom ceilings at the corridor wall and run to a new pipe enclosure (metal or GWB) at the exterior wall. As part of this work the Contractor shall remove the existing ceiling tiles, grid & devices as needed for the removal and installation of the Work. Once the Work has been completed, the Contractor shall reinstall the existing ceiling system to the previous condition prior to the renovations. All ceiling components that are damaged during the removal/reinstallation shall be replaced in kind. e. The removal and replacement of the existing rooftop exhaust fans as indicated in the Contract Documents. 15. Alternate Bid: At the 900 Wing, remove and replace the existing (4) packaged heat pump units and all associated work including the electrical modifications as indicated in the Contract Documents It is expressly understood that the Bidder is responsible for getting the bid to the Business Administrator by the time and date set for the bid opening. Bids shall be addressed to the Owner whose name appears in Paragraph la of the Instructions to Bidders; they shall be mailed or delivered to the address stated herein, enclosed in an opaque sealed envelope, clearly marked with the name of the Bidder and the name of the Project as described in this Notice to Bidders; and must be received by not later than the time designated in this Notice to Bidders. No responsibility will attach to Architect or Owner for premature opening of a bid which is not properly identified. Any bid received after 3:00 PM will be returned unopened. The Bidders shall submit, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A: 18A18(b)(2), one Lump Sum Bid for all the work and materials. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) with at least the DPMC classification associated with the work they intend to directly perform or, if Bidder will not directly perform any work, with DPMC classification C006, C008, or C009. Bidders' Prime Subcontractors, defined as those listed in N.J.S.A. 18A: 18A-18, must be pre-qualified by DPMC with the DPMC classification associated with the work they intend to directly perform or subcontract. The Bidder and named Prime Subcontractors must be prequalified prior to the date that bids are received. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check, bank cashier's check, treasurer's check or Bid Bond in the form provided in the Contract Documents, with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner, in an amount of 10% of the Base Bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A: 18A-24, naming as payee or obligee, as applicable, Dennis Township Board of Education, to be retained and applied by the undersigned as provided in the Contract Documents in case the successful Bidder defaults in executing the Agreement or furnishing the bonds and insurance certificates as required by the Contract Documents. Prospective Bidders are advised that this Project is one which will be subject to and will be governed by provisions ofNew Jersey law, including, but not limited to, those regarding (a) Prequalification of Bidders (N.J.S.A. 18A: 18A-26 et seq.); (b) Prevailing Wage Rates (N.J.S.A. 34: 11-56.25 et seq.); (c) Use of Domestic Materials, (N.J.S.A. 18A: 18A-20); and (d) Ownership Disclosure Certification, (N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2). The Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34: 11-56.48 et seq., requires that the Bidder and named Prime Subcontractors must be registered at the time of Bid. The Owner is requesting that copies of the Public Works Contractor Registration Certificates for Bidder and its Named Prime Subcontractors be included in the Bidder's Bid Package, but the Bidder must provide copies of the Certificates no later than the time of award. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 all business organizations that do business with a local contracting agency, including Bidders and Named Prime Subcontractors, are required to be registered with the State through the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue. The Owner is requesting that copies of the Registrations for Bidder and its Named Prime Subcontractors be included in the Bidder's Bid Package, but the Bidder must provide proof of such Registrations prior to the award of the Contract. In addition, each Bid Package must include a certificate from a surety company stating it will provide said Bidder with a bond in such sum as required by N.J.S.A. 18A-25. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the dates set for the opening thereof. The right is reserved to reject all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A: 18A-22 or to waive minor informalities, defects, and non-material exceptions. Bidders are required to comply with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1.1 et seq. The Time Schedule for the project is as follows: Friday 10/20/23 Bid packages available via Electronic Delivery Thursday 10/26/23 Friday 11/17/23 Deadline for Addendum Issued to Bidders, if necessary Thursday 11/30/23 Bids Due at 3:00 PM in the Conference Room of the Dennis Township Board of Education, 601 Hagan Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey 08210.
