The contractor, a licensed fire protection engineer, is expected to produce full plans and specifications for implementing a water mist fire protection system at Camp Santanoni in Newcomb, New York. This work will be based off of the Great Camp Santanoni Fire Protection Option Appraisal, completed in 2023 by Heritage Protection Group and RAN Fire Protection Engineering. Contract term: 1-YEAR CONTRACT WITH 1-YEAR EXTENSION The services rendered shall be provided under the direct supervision of a licensed fire protection engineer. A fire protection engineer is an individual who is a registered professional engineer (P.E.) who has received an accredited degree in fire protection engineering and passed the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) fire protection engineering examination. Working under contract with Adirondack Architectural Heritage, this project involves coordination with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), who manages the site, the Adirondack Park Agency, and the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Project will include but is not limited to: Producing full construction documents, including plans and specifications, for review by NYS DEC and other coordinating agencies. Prepare necessary permits for project implementation. Oversee construction project and project implementation, including visits to the site. Applicant must have the following experience and accreditation: Experience creating plans and specifications for a water mist fire protection system in a NYS-owned National Historic Landmark site within the last five years. Be a registered professional engineer (P.E.) who has received an accredited degree in fire protection engineering and passed the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) fire protection engineering examination. Applicants must submit a completed Checklist/Application cover sheet, available under the "Documents" tab, by the Solicitation of Interest deadline.
