The work shall include all of the equipment and material necessary to perform this task in accordance with the requirements of the Village of Ridgewood, New Jersey 07451 as needed and described in these specifications. The work generally consists of, but is not limited to, the following: furnishing and the installation of approximately 2,800 linear feet of eight-inch (8"), approximately 1,725 linear feet of ten-inch (10"), approximately 2,450 linear feet of twelve-inch (12"), approximately 265 linear feet of sixteen-inch (16"), and approximately 1,925 linear feet of twenty-inch (20") of ductile iron class 54 water main replacement at three (3) project areas: Ames Tank in Wyckoff, Dunham Place in Glen Rock, and Utility Right-of-Way in Ridgewood. The Contractor shall also furnish and install two (2) 2-inch communications conduits, vaults, and all appurtenances as part of the Ames Tank project. The project will also consist of service connections, valves, fire hydrants, site restoration, paving, hydrostatic testing, disinfection & dichlorination, traffic control and all related appurtenances. The contractor is responsible for providing all labor, supervision, trade skills, materials, and equipment required for this project as described in the Construction Documents. Time is of the essence on this project; an interim milestone for the substantial completion and return to service of the Ames Tank and Utility Right of Way project is April 15, 2024. Substantial completion for Dunham Place is July 1, 2024. Final completion date is November 1, 2024. All contractors, their subcontractors, and material suppliers shall comply with all applicable provisions of the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, pursuant to Public Law 1999 Chapter 238 and the Contractor Business Registration Program, pursuant to Public Law 2004 Chapter 57. The successful bidder shall furnish and deliver to the Village of Ridgewood a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the accepted bid amount as security for the faithful performance of the Contract. Additionally, the successful bidder shall furnish policies or Certificates of Insurance required by the Contract. In default thereof, said checks and/or bonds and the amount represented thereby shall be forfeited to the Village of Ridgewood as liquidated damages, not as a penalty.
