Written sealed bids will be received by the Board of Education of Unified School District No. 348, Douglas County, Kansas at the district office in Baldwin City, Kansas for the construction and installation of a glass enclosure with a single walk-in door and a wall of bi-fold doors located in the Baldwin City High School. Specifications and drawings are included. If you would like to schedule a pre-bid meeting, please contact Michael Elliott at 620-842-2874 to schedule one before the bid deadline. All bids will be publicly opened at the time set for opening specified in the Notice. Each bid shall be subject to acceptance or rejection by the board within thirty (30) days following the bid opening. The Board retains the right to refuse any or all bids. The winning bidder will be responsible for obtaining a Public Works Bond if the project exceeds $100,000.00. Payment will be made upon satisfactory completion of the project. Invoices are paid once a month after board approval. The following bid is for the construction and installation of a conference/class room located on the first floor of the Baldwin City High School. The east and west wall of the room will be constructed with glass panels and aluminum frames, such as a storefront design. A single, lockable, walk-in door will be located on the east wall of the room, and bi-fold glass doors will serve as the south wall. There will be options to bid concerning clear, frosted, or other types of glass options that are not stated. The space must be made to be as sound proof as possible as it is designed as a space to hold administrative meetings as well as classroom and training activities. The glass walls must be able to withstand the everyday wear and tear of high school students and cleaning activities. Drawings are included in this packet that are not to scale.
