As of December 4, 2023 the project was not yet been awarded the timeline for the award was not yet been established McGee Cadd Greenville - Dori Trueman 252-752-4400 Digital Files and Printing HH Architecture, PA - Anita Karimu 919-828-2301 Architect The Dream Park Community Building improvements will be a comprehensive renovation of the existing one-story, approximately 5,500 square foot, non-sprinklered building. This building and site will be a revitalized amenity SPACE for the community, able to host a variety of events. In addition to a large open assembly area, the building will also have an office space, A storage room, a warming kitchen with pass-through window directly adjacent to the assembly hall, AND Restrooms to support all spaces. Supporting spaces such as A janitor's closet, as well as mechanical, electrical, and IT rooms are also included. The renovation work includes gutting the interior of the space and providing new partitions. Architectural finishes, hvac, lighting, and fire alarm. Additionally, both porches will be demolished and replaced, and the existing metal roofing will be replaced. The building will receive all new windows and doors, as well as some areas of infill exterior wall. Many sidewalks and some parking areas will be replaced to ensure an accessible route throughout the site. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following: the Dream Park Community Building located at 1700 Chestnut Street, Greenville, North Carolina. This is a building with historical character, originally constructed in the 1930's as a fire station. It has had several repairs and alterations made to it over time, as evidenced by new areas of brick fill along the façade. The building is currently not-in-use, but was most recently used as a community assembly space with a classroom and support spaces, including a warming kitchen and bathrooms. The Owner is hopeful that restoration and improvement of the facilities will allow the building to reopen as a beneficial amenity for the surrounding community. Removal of any hazardous materials, surveyed separately by the Owner, shall be completed prior to the start of construction. Hazardous material found on the roof will be remediated as part of the roof demolition and replacement, bid as part of this project. Renovation of the entire existing building including the following: structural repair as needed; removal of all interior walls and finishes; removal of the existing chimney and former skylights; replacement of the roofing material; all new windows and doors; new HVAC, plumbing, and electrical to support the new building design; all new interior finishes; and fire & security monitoring. Include an allowance during bidding to allow for exterior masonry inspection and repointing, if needed, for exterior brick veneer. Site Improvements for the project include ADA accessibility and landscaping. Addendum #1-#3 have been issued as of 11-15-2023.
