Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Jackson, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

Valley Cross Road over Wildcat Brook Improvements include superstructure replacement with varying width sidewalk, abutment widening to accommodate widened roadway, new concrete wingwalls, field attachment on substructures of stone veneer, historical truss refurbishing with waste disposal and reattachment to the bridge, and roadway approach improvements with new guardrail. This contract is supplemented by the NHDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 2016 Edition. All requirements listed in this document must also be in conformance with the NHDOT Standard Specifications. Instances where the owner is referred to as the New Hampshire Department of Transportation shall default to ownership being the Town of Jackson. Work may begin once weather conditions are favorable and with the approval from the Town of Jackson. Substantial completion of all work apart from pavement markings, signage and delineator post installation is required by November 15, 2024. Liquidated damages shall be assessed at $1,000.00 per day. Hours of work will be 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM weekdays, unless otherwise approved by the Town of Jackson. The Contractor will be required to keep the area southwest of the bridge accessible to the public and employees to the maximum degree possible. Contractor proposed traffic or pedestrian detour routes, or phasing shall be approved by the Town of Jackson prior to the commencement of work. The General Contractor for this project must be Pre-qualified with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) for Road Construction, Bridge Rehabilitation, Bridge Construction, Bridge Painting, Guardrail Construction and/or applicable "Other" category. All work shall conform to the current standard specifications and documentation requirements issued by the NHDOT unless otherwise stipulated in this document. Bidders must determine the quantities of work required and the conditions under which the work will be performed. Questions shall be directed to Stephen Langevin, P.E., Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. at 603-766-8250 or slangevin@gpinet.com. Addenda to this project, if any, including written answers to questions, will be posted by 1:00 p.m., on November 6, 2023 on the Town of Jackson Website under the project heading. Addenda may be provided via group email to all contractors that provide their email address to the Town. The Town reserves the right, after bid opening and prior to award of the contract, to modify the amount of the work in the event that bids exceed budgeted amounts. The Town of Jackson further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive technical or legal deficiencies, to re-bid, and to accept any bid that it may deem to be in the best interest of the Town. Also, the Town reserves the right to approve or deny subcontractors for this project. An award of this project is contingent upon additional process and funding. Unskilled labor may be hired from lists prepared by the NH Dept. of Employment Security designated in the proposal. Each Bidder shall furnish a bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the complete bid. The Bid Security may be in the form of a certified check or a bid bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Hampshire, made payable to the Town of Jackson, N.H. The Bidder shall identify the proposed project superintendent with their bid and is subject to Town approval. Any change in the superintendent shall require Town approval. The identified superintendent must be on-site during all work activities. The Bidder shall identify all subcontractors whose work value exceeds $5,000 in their bid. This project consists of the rehabilitation of the Valley Cross Road Bridge.
