Construction of a new drinking water treatment plant for the replacement of the existing Lac-à-la-Pêche drinking water treatment station. To increase the quantity of the treated water to be supplied to the City, the project provides for the construction of a $80-million facility that will draw the water not only from the Lac-à-la-Pêche lake, but also from the Shawinigan River. The scope of work will include the construction of all required pipelines and pumping stations. According to preliminary studies the membrane treatment technology will be abandoned in favor of conventional sand treatment. TIMELINE: Contract for engineering services to carry out preliminary studies has been awarded following request for proposals # SI-23-029.02. Reference number: 20058846.
