Site work for a civil project in Shawinigan, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Construction of a new drinking water treatment plant for the replacement of the existing Lac-à-la-Pêche drinking water treatment station. To increase the quantity of the treated water to be supplied to the City, the project provides for the construction of a $80-million facility that will draw the water not only from the Lac-à-la-Pêche lake, but also from the Shawinigan River. The scope of work will include the construction of all required pipelines and pumping stations. According to preliminary studies the membrane treatment technology will be abandoned in favor of conventional sand treatment. TIMELINE: Project is preliminary. The city has obtained a support from the Government of Quebec to carry out preliminary studies aimed at exploring the various possibilities available. Scope of work, final budget and timelines of the project implementation have not been finalized yet. Further update in spring/summer, 2025.
