COMPLETION TIME 42Calendar Days LIQUIDATED DAMAGES $1,000 per Calendar Day The Board of Public Works authorized that bids be only accepted from contractors currently listed on the Emergency PQOC Geotechnical/Structural Construction Services Projects for Public Works. The Board reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding and to make an award on a contract in the best interest of the City. All work shall be performed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract Agreement for the Emergency PQOC Geotechnical/Structural Construction Services Projects for Public Works (Contract) and shall conform to the Bureau's Master General Conditions, Master General Requirements, and the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction "Green Book" (Parts 2 thru 6) 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2021 Editions, and the "Brown Book" May 4, 2022 Edition A "Bid Bond" is not required for this project. The successful bidder shall provide two good and sufficient surety bonds. A "Payment Bond" and "Performance Bond" representing 100% of the total bid amount shall be filed with the Board Office before work commences Description Only the following nine Contractors can bid on this project as a Prime Contractor: o Los Angeles Engineering o Mladen Buntich Construction Company o Hayward Baker, Inc. o Jilk Heavy Construction, Inc. o Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. o Mike Prlich & Sons, Inc. o PPC Construction, Inc. o Calex Engineering o Clarke Contracting This project provides emergency erosion control mitigation measures to protect and repair damaged streets and right-of-way from further storm damage, as needed. These conditions of damaged streets during rain events are a threat to public safety. The implementation of erosion control measures will assist in safe passage to pedestrians and use of roadway, as well as to reduce further deterioration of the damage. The work will consist of the placement of sandbags, installation of asphalt concrete (AC) berm, AC paving, construction of pipe and board structures, and removal and haul away of soil, rock, weathered bedrock, and construction debris.
