Tennis court crack repair and resurfacing. Question Deadline 11/02/2023 Questions regarding this project shall be submitted in writing and emailed to Mike Sprague, Town Engineer at msprague@bedfordma.gov by the close of business (4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday) at least five (5) working days prior to the stated Bid Opening date Work under this Contract includes a complete repair of the existing tennis courts at Bedford High School and Middle School as shown on the project plans. The extent of the repairs will cover two (2) regulation size double wide tennis courts, one (1) regulation size single wide tennis court all located at the Bedford High School. Followed by the repair and repaint of an existing double wide tennis court into multiple pickleball courts at Bedford Middle School. The Bedford High School tennis court restoration will have two phases for each court: the repairs and the resurfacing. The repair will consist of a complete restoration of the courts entire structure. The contractor will remove any debris from all of the existing cracks with their preferred technique, any material from prior crack repair techniques must also be removed. The cracks will be dried thoroughly to ensure the bond between the crack repair substance and existing surface. After the crack is filled and dried, the contractor must smooth the surface to restore the tennis court back to a suitable grade. Following the crack repair services, the contractor will resurface and repaint with a paint system sufficient enough to seal voids and protect the newly renovated surface from damage. When this is complete the contractor will apply white lines and reinstall the posts. The Bedford Middle School tennis court resurfacing will be limited to only a resurfacing for minor cracks and a repainting. The existing area is going to be converted from two (2) full size tennis courts to a shared use court with two full size tennis court lines and six pickleball courts lined on the same space as the two tennis courts. These specifications are hereby made part of the Contract Documents and shall apply to all parts of the Contract. The Contractor must have the 2021 Standard Specifications, as amended, all Supplemental Specifications, the October 2017 Massachusetts Department of Transportation Construction Standard Details, the latest edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways with Massachusetts Amendments, and the latest edition of the American Standard for Nursery Stock. All items notincluded in these special provisions are covered by the 2021 Standard Specifications and Supplemental Specifications.
