The City of Lenoir will accept sealed bids for the fabrication and installation of the Lenoir Wayfinding signs project per the attached plans and specifications located around Lenoir, NC. This project consists of two types of signs: 36 Major Wayfinding signs and 20 Minor Wayfinding signs. Each sign type furthermore has an option to include a space for local artwork to be installed. A final determination on which signs include the local artwork variation is still being decided and contractor's bid should cover each alternate. Any installation of local art pieces will be by others. Contract is to be awarded on a Unit Price basis including fabrication of the wayfinding signs, poles, and all associated costs. Unit prices shall also include labor to erect all signage components including the installation of the concrete foundations for the signs. Contractor is to obtain and ensure that all applicable permits & NCDOT encroachments have been obtained prior to installation of signs. Contractor shall provide final shop drawings stamped by an Engineer licensed in the state of North Carolina. Contractor must be a NCDOT prequalified bidder. All responses for information and addenda will be issued online. All bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or cashier's check in the amount of 5% of the bid payable to the City of Lenoir. All questions must be received and addressed at least five business days prior to the date fixed for receiving Bids. The City of Lenoir reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Contractor assumes all cost of preparation of the proposal. Vendors submitting bids are encouraged to solicit Minority Business Enterprise / Women's Business Enterprise Participation in fulfilling their contract. The bid should indicate MBE/WBE areas of involvement. The successful bidder shall comply with all Federal and State requirements concerning fair employment and treatment of all employees, without regard or discrimination by reason of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, or physical handicap. Owner requires Contractor to efficiently use resources to fullest extent possible in completion of this Project. Resource efficient aspects to be considered in completing this Project include: 1. Use of techniques that minimize waste generation 2. Salvage of existing materials and items for reuse or resale 3. Reuse of materials on site where possible 4. Recycling of waste generated during demolition and construction processes B. Contractor is encouraged to include additional resource efficient methods in Project.
