The Wastewater Treatment Branch of the City of Ottawa, hereinafter referred to as the City, is seeking bids from qualified vendors to provide all labour, equipment, and materials for hauling and disposal of grit and screening from the Robert O. Pickard Environmental Centre (ROPEC) in accordance with the attached specifications, terms and conditions, (the Work). The City generates, at ROPEC, an average 1,300 tonnes of grit and screenings per year. The production of grit and screenings is relatively constant at a rate of 4 tonnes per day. Surges in production are seen during high flows associated with major rain events, snow melts and maintenance work to unit processes done at the wastewater treatment plant with grit production peaks of 7-12 tonnes per day.
