Site work and paving for a road / highway in Bryan, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The deadline for written questions and inquiries is November 6, 2023 @ 10:00 A.M. CST. The City of Bryan is requesting qualifications for professional engineering and associated services, in accordance with the requirements specified herein and including all provisions set forth in the accompanying documentation. The project is located at the south side of the City's Industrial Park. The existing roadway is a narrow, rural residential roadway. The drainage facilities are open ditch and insufficient for conveying the increased runoff that will be seen with new development. As a result, the existing roadway is not able to support and serve new development within the park or the area. This project is listed in the City of Bryan's FY2024 Capital Improvement Program and will widen the roadway to a width of 38' with a continuous center turn lane. This upgraded section will allow industrial/commercial developments to utilize this upgraded roadway for transporting their goods and services to and from their facility. An EDA grant will be used to fund a portion of the construction. The design must account for all additional requirements for federally funded projects, including but not limited to: procurement requirements, contracting requirements/provisions, bonding requirements, and environmental impact assessments including full compliance with NEPA. These federal funds are expected to be managed by the U.S. Economic Development Administration which is a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The scope of work for this RFQ includes providing design (including survey, environmental and geotechnical investigation, as needed), bidding and construction phase services associated with the widening of Mumford Road for approximately 6,400 linear feet beginning the intersection of FM 2818 (Harvey Mitchell Parkway), extending in a westerly direction and ending approximately 460 linear feet from Carrier Lane. Drainage improvements include curb inlets, storm sewer and a 26 foot wide by 60 foot (approximately) span bridge. Street lighting is proposed to be generally spaced at 150 feet. The improvements will reclassify the roadway from rural residential to minor collector/commercial street with the width being 38 feet. This will be divided as 2 - 12 foot travel lanes and a 13 foot wide, continuous center turn lane.
