Renovation of a residential development in Omaha, Nebraska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
The City of Omaha, acting as Agent for the owner, invites bids for the REHABILITATION OF DWELLING UNIT at: 6818 N 51st Street Licensed contractors whom are not registered as an eligible contractor for bidding may register for future projects to complete an application to meet the program requirements. Sealed bids are invited and will be received on or before the closing time, as per specifications on file in the office of Rehabilitation Section of the Planning Department, Room 1111, Omaha/ Douglas Civic Center. Attention is called to the fact that not less than minimum salaries and wages as specified by the U.S. Secretary of Labor as set forth in the specification may be paid on the rehabilitation work. The contractor must, furthermore, insure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color or creed, sex or national origin. The bidder must file a certificate of insurance with the Rehabilitation Section evidencing comprehensive public liability insurance coverage protecting the property owner for not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate arising out of the work performed by the contractor. Evidence of workmans compensation insurance must be shown prior to receipt of the order to proceed with the work. The owner reserves the right to accept, reject, or negotiate any or all bids in whole or in part. The Contractor shall not disturb any area oflead based paint surfaces greater than the exterior deminimus level. o Comply with HUD's "Guidelines for the Evaluation and Control of Lead-Based Paint Hazards in Housing", (copies are available at the Planning Department.) o Comply with standards called for in the "Construction and Rehabilitation Specifications, Housing and Community Development Division, City of Omaha, Nebraska". (Copies are available at the Planning Department.) o Comply with the State ofNebraska ofNebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Title 178 Chapter 23 Lead Base paint regulations. o Coordinate daily construction schedule with the occupant. o Submit information cut sheets for all substitutions or approved equals prior to written approval ofthe Rehabilitation Inspector. o Repair or replace all items damaged or disturbed during construction. o At all times keep the site of work and surrounding area free from accumulations ofwaste materials or rubbish caused by the work. o Upon daily completion of work clean up all rubbish, excess material, equipment, and etc., that is connected with the work, and leave all parts ofthe work areas in a neat, sanitary, lead safe and presentable condition. o Complete this project within 60 calendar days from the proceed order.
