Renovation of an educational facility in Hilo, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Furnish and install Fifteen (15) Media model number MAW25R2BWT 25,000 BTU Window A/C. Building D (11 Window Units) 21 (1 unit) 22 (1 unit) 23 (1 unit) 24 (1 unit) 25 (1 unit) 26 (1 unit) 28 (1 unit) 29 (1 unit) 30 (1 unit) 31 (1 unit) 32 (1 unit) Building G (4 Window Units) 33 (1 unit) 34 (1 unit) 35 (1 unit) 36 (1 unit) Window units to be installed on the window louver side for building and cover open screens with plywood painted (interior and exterior). Install switch-controlled outlet for each window a/c unit. Air Conditioning Units: o Before ordering equipment, provide specifications of A/C units to Project Coordinator for approval. o All units must be energy Start-rated with a minimum CEER of 10.3 All A/C units that are over walkways & lanais shall be installed with condensation drain lines running to the ground (not to concrete walkways or wooden lanais). Any equipment and/or installations changes identified during the pre-bid meeting/walkthrough shall be verified and approved by the Project Coordinator. Changes will be posted as an Addendum to the Scope. o All A/C units will be framed with painted 2 x 4. All wood around the A/C units will be painted (interior and exterior). Electrical: Contractor shall provide all necessary components for a complete installation of all A/C units; including but not limited to conduits, wiring, outlets, etc. for the fifteen (15) classrooms. Patching: All penetrations through walls/windows shall be completely sealed. All added and/or replaced lumber and/or plywood shall be patched and painted. Wood trim shall be used for gaps larger than 1/4 inch. Any damages caused by the contractors work shall be properly patched and painted to match surrounding areas. Windows/Louvres: Windows and louvres must be operational post-installation. Project is tentatively scheduled to commence upon award of contract and must be completed by July 26, 2024. Any work which would disrupt the classroom should be scheduled for No Students days (calendar provided by the school) or pre-arranged relocation of students if possible. No weekend and State holiday work shall be permitted. A pre-con meeting shall be held no less than two (2) weeks prior to starting construction. The contractor should coordinate this with the school through the project coordinator. Questions Deadline: 11/17/2023 Answers Due Date: 11/20/2023 Bidders may be required to sign-in at the start and at the conclusion of the conference to ensure full participation. No other pre-bid conference will be scheduled or allowed. Bidder is advised to register to attend the mandatory pre-bid conference through this Solicitation. Bidder is advised to print out a copy of this Solicitation, including project scope of work documents, for its use at the pre-bid conference. No copies of the project scope of work documents will be available at the pre-bid conference Questions, regarding the scope of work or project schedule, may arise at the pre-bid conference, from project site visit(s), or at any time prior to the close of bids. Bidders shall direct questions or clarification requests to the Project Coordinator by the questions deadline indicated in this Solicitation. Clarifications and/or answers to questions will be distributed by amendments to this Solicitation. All work shall be per manufacturers specifications and recommendations, an shall be performed to industry standards. The Contractor shall comply with all current local, State, and National ordinances and applicable uniform building code including UBC and N.E.C. Any additional work requested by school officials, discrepancies or unforeseen conditions, the Contractor shall contact and inform the Contractor shall contact and inform the Project Coordinator. Any project cost changes must be approved by the Project Coordinator. To be eligible to submit a bid, the bidder must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractors license classification B or C-52. A performance bond is required for all projects $50,000 and above.
