Site work, renovation and addition to a detention facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility; and for the addition of a detention facility.
Renovations to part of the Edmonton Young Offender Centre for an increase to Alberta's youth addiction treatment capacity, adding 105 new beds and enabling care for up to 300 young people each year. Work includes aesthetic changes/interior refresh in Wing A; new entrance for the programs, including repurposing the current chapel space, extending the building outwards, addition of a canopy, angling the doors away from the main EYOC doors, angling the entrance, and using shrubs/trees as a divider between the two entrances; Separating youth housing in different wings by program needs; Mechanical/Electrical, security and other building systems upgrades; upgrades to communications systems; creation of admissions/processing space' and construction of a new building to replace services lost due to space reallocation. TIMELINE: Tender package 1 was issued by the construction manager in early spring 2025. Due to the nature of the project, documents will only be available upon NDA signing. At the request of the owner, additional project details will not be released for publication at this time.
