Sealed envelopes containing the proposal must be plainly marked on the outside as: Submittal for Leavenworth County Project. Interested consulting firms must be pre-qualified by KDOT in the work categories noted. Leavenworth County is seeking a consultant to provide design services for the Leavenworth County Kansas Local Bridge Improvement Program grant projects for SH-54 and SH-61 bridge replacement projects. The work includes bridge removal and replacement of existing bridge. The removal and replacement that include the following: o Rural Local Structure, 32' wide (24' pavement with 4' shoulders each side) plus barrier. o HL-93 Loading o Designed to KDOT and AASHTO Standard Specification for Highway Bridges. o Structure sized to pass 50-year storm event, minimum. o Designed to Kansas Department of Transportation specifications. o Select the most cost-effective structure with input from Leavenworth County o 32' roadway width (24' pavement with 4' shoulders each side), 55 MPH design speed o Minimum of 150' each side of structure, tapered to match existing road, shoulders may be reduced to match structure, but grading should be performed to allow for future upgrades o Signing, striping, and safety improvements as necessary o Guardrail design (MGS) o Traffic Control plans showing bridge closure and possible detour plan.
