Site work and asbestos abatement for a residential development in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a residential development; and for asbestos abatement for a residential development.

The City of Spartanburg is seeking Proposals from Licensed General Contractors or South Carolina Home Builders who are also Licensed and Certified Lead Remediation Contractors for the abatement work or use of Interim controls for these listed properties: 334 S. Hampton Street RFP includes painting of all windows and leak repairs 348 W. Hampton Street RFP includes a complete painting of the exterior of the house Technical questions regarding the scope of services should be directed to David Maher, Program Manager and City of Spartanburg at 864-580-5011. All Wood siding: All of the initial sanding and scraping siding areas must be enclosed up to six feet from the walls, soffits and fascia on each side. Some type of enclosure must be used utilizing staging or PVC along all sides of the house. Clear 6 mil plastic will be attached to the outside of the enclosure so while scraping of the deteriorated paint is taking place, the plastic on the staging and the 6-mil plastic on the ground will catch all the lead dust and lead chips that will be present due to the wet scraping that will be taking place. The HEPA vacuum must be used consistently to keep up with all the dust and debris that takes place where each section of siding is wet sanded or scraped All workers must be overseen by the Lead Supervisor and the RRP certified assistant to work with lead remediation. All workers, while within the work area, will need to wear safety glasses, work gloves, N95 type mask and head covering. Booties should be provided for workers to wear within the Lead work area, locating a receptacle for them to be discharged into that receptacle each time they leave the work area to exit the property. A porta-potty and wash station will be provided on site through the grant for hand washing while being exposed and working with lead paint Following the wet scraping of all loose and deteriorated paint, all of the siding will be painted with (1) one coat of encapsulate and (2) two coats of a quality level paint. The owner will choose the color to be used to paint the siding. The staging barrier will remain in place during the sanding and/or scrapping but moved further away from the walls (two foot maximum) to allow for more room to apply the paint, either by hand or spray Front Porch 348 W. Hampton All components of the front porch to include but not limited to the columns, windows, front door and the porch floor will be scraped as necessary. Clear plastic will be attached to the front fascia area and draped down into the porch area while all lead remediation work is taking place on the porch. All of the porch components will get one coat of encapsulate and two colors of paint with the choice of color being made by the owner The porch floor will need to be covered with plastic while all the porch siding, windows and door is being completed. Contractor should plan to complete the painting on the floor as the last project Windows The exterior components of all of the house windows will be wet scraped as necessary, encapsulated and painted with two coats of premiere level paint. This will include all of the exterior window frames and all the window components. The following number of windows will need updated glazing: (12) twelve. There locations will be highlighted at the Pre-bid conference Attic windows/dormer will be painted to match the lower house windows Interior Doors (6) Six interior doors, which will be noted the day and time of the Pre-bid, will be removed from their location, taken outside to be planed and re-painted so that they no longer have friction contact with each of their individual door frames. The striker jamb on each door casing will be painted with encapsulate and repainted the color of the
