Renovation of a fire / police facility in Fayetteville, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 2,800-square-foot fire / police facility.

Fayette County, Georgia is seeking quotes for removal and installation of a concrete pad at Fire Station 2. Fayette County is requesting quotes for the removal of the old concrete pad and the installation of a new concrete pad located in the front of the old Fire Station 2 building. The building is located at 1330 Hwy 92 North, Fayetteville, Ga. 30214 behind the new fire station. This building was constructed in 1979 and the current pad needs replacement due to settling and cracking. This building serves as the Fire/EMS supply depot Scope of Work: The scope for this job will include the removal and disposal of an estimated 2,800 sq ft. of old concrete and asphalt and the set-up of all necessary items for re-pouring the concrete pad on site (Exhibit 1)). This will include all forms, wire installation, and rebar as required. The building will remain operational during the work period. The successful contractor will provide the recommended curing time. The curing time will determine the schedule of the work periods. Construction requirements include: o The new concrete shall be sloped to provide proper drainage away from the building and apparatus bay. Ensure that the sub-base is suitable for the re-pour of the pad. o The concrete shall be 4000 psi and poured at a depth of 6 inches. o This pad shall provide for ingress and egress for apparatus of a weight of 52,000 lbs. per vehicle at a minimum. o Install #5 rebar @ 12" on center (OC) where the concrete contacts the building slab. Use epoxy to secure rebar in slab and tie into pad rebar. o Install #5 rebar @ 12" OC in both directions secured in place by wire ties. Rebar shall be placed on rebar chairs. o A broom finish, suitable for an exterior slab, is required. The finish shall be equal to a fine hair broom drawn across the slab. o Control joints shall be with expansion joints made in accordance with industry standards for slabs of this size. Joint depth shall be 1.5". o Forms shall be left in place a minimum of 24-hours. After removal of all forms the slab ends and joints shall be cleaned up as required.
