Renovation of a municipal facility in Arcadia, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
**As of December 7, 2023, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The Project work will consist of removal and replacement of existing roof system per specifications, labor only, for the Chamber of Commerce, Community Center, and Council Chambers, roof restoration per specifications for the Police Department, and asbestos abatement for the Chamber of Commerce, Community Center, and Council Chambers. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 calendar days after the Bid opening date. Each Bid shall be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or Bid Bond secured from a surety company satisfactory to the City, the amount of which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price, made payable to City of Arcadia as bid security. The bid security shall be provided as a guarantee that within five (5) working days after the City provides the successful bidder the Notice of Award, the successful Bidder will enter into a contract and provide the necessary bonds and certificates of insurance. The bid security will be declared forfeited if the successful Bidder fails to comply within said time. No interest will be paid on funds deposited with the City. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. TIME FOR COMPLETION. Time is of the essence in the performance of the Work. The Work shall be commenced on the date stated in the City's Notice to Proceed. The Contractor shall complete all Work required by the Contract Documents within Sixty (60) Calendar Days calendar days from the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. By its signature hereunder, Contractor agrees the time for completion set forth above is adequate and reasonable to complete the Work City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process. The City reserves the right to revise the Contract Documents prior to the Bid opening date. Revisions, if any, shall be made by written Addenda. All Addenda issued by the City shall be included in the Bid and made part of the Contract Documents. The City reserves the right to reject any Bid if an investigation of the information submitted does not satisfy the Engineer that the Bidder is qualified to properly carry out the terms of the contract. The Contractor shall perform all Work within the time stipulated in the Contract, and shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, utility services, and transportation to complete all of the Work required in strict compliance with the Contract Documents as specified in Article 5, below, for the following Project: Reroof at Various City Facilities Project The Contractor and its surety shall be liable to the City for any damages arising as a result of the Contractor's failure to comply with this obligation. Scope of Work: 1. Remove existing roof system down to the wood deck and all metal flashing. 2. Inspect deck and after owner's approval replaced all failed wood decking. 3. Install two layers of R-mer Seal underlayment and back nail for a Class A fire rated underlayment assembly 4. Install DaVinci Aged Cedar Composite Multi-Width simulated wood shake with 10" exposure. Follow manufacturers installation. 5. Install all new Kynar fluorocarbon baked 30-year edge metal and associated roof related sheet metal, ANSI/SPRI ES1 24 gauge. Install lead jacks on all penetrations. 6. Contractor to supply 5-year warranty and Manufacturer to supply 30 Year NDL warranty LIQUIDATED DAMAGES. In accordance with Government Code section 53069.85, it is agreed that the Contractor will pay the City the sum set forth in Special Conditions, Article 1.11 for each and every calendar day of delay beyond the time prescribed in the Contract Documents for finishing the Work, as Liquidated Damages and not as a penalty or forfeiture. In the event this is not paid, the Contractor agrees the City may deduct that amount from any money due or that may become due the Contractor under the Contract. This Article does not exclude recovery of other damages specified in the Contract Documents. Each Bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following appropriate classification(s) of contractor's license(s), for the work Bid upon, and must maintain the license(s) throughout the duration of the Contract: Class B and C-39.
