Project was awarded to Abt Associates Inc. for $71,659.00 The Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division (HMWMD) of CDPHE seeks to improve the quality of the environment and public health for the citizens of Colorado by continuously improving our efforts to ensure proper management of hazardous materials and waste. The Bonita Peak Mining District site consists of 48 historic mines or mining-related sources where ongoing releases of metal-laden water and sediments are occurring within the Mineral Creek, Cement Creek and Upper Animas River drainages in San Juan County, Colorado. Historic mining operations have contaminated soil, groundwater and surface water with heavy metals. The purpose of this Documented Quote is to solicit responses from qualified Bidders to develop a Natural Resources Restoration Plan that identifies and evaluates potential restoration projects impacted by the Bonita Peak Mining District Superfund Site. The Restoration Plan will be used as a tool to assist the Natural Resource Trustees to recommend future awards using the $6.6M the state received in settlement funds to restore, acquire and replace natural resources injured as a result of the mining activities.
