Reference Number 0000333902 Dutchess County and the City of Beacon (the "City") are seeking expressions of interest for the subdivision, sale, and development of a portion of the County-owned property at 223 Main Street (Lot #834908). The property currently contains a county office building and a large parking lot. Redevelopment of the site is consistent with the City's 2017 Comprehensive Plan, which notes that "the Dutchess Center parking lot could be improved substantially by reconfiguring the parking thus providing area for a new infill building and a small green" (p. 64). Under New York State law, all sales of County property must be made to the highest responsible bidder after public advertisement. As such, this RFEI is only intended to assist the County and City in determining the viability and value of such a bid process, and to assist in the crafting of bid documents should such a process be undertaken.
