The location of the project is on the Black Creek Forest Trail, on the west side of Highway 17 between Harbor Island Drive and Pace Island Trace, Fleming Island, FL 32003 (30.12566 -81.70425). The work site is located on the west side of Highway 17 between Harbor Island Drive and Pace Island Trace, in vicinity of 30.12566, -81.70425. Work includes, but is not limited to obtaining all locates, permits, labor, inspections, hardware, and equipment and providing all materials not specified in this Scope of Work, necessary to repair the damaged wooden walkway in wetland border adjoining Highway 17: Raise and repair the dock/walkway to make it level with the adjacent sections of the walkway. Remove and replace one (1) 12" x 35' x 2.50 [treated] piling. Remove and replace one (1) 12" x 12" beam. Treat cut end with like treatment. Secure beam with 3" x 3" L-galvanized steel brackets. Reattach header to pilings. Attach beam to header with 5/8" x 20" lags. Replace any material that is broken or damaged within the 140' walkway section. Including but not limited to poles, beams, subs, decking, handrail post, 2" x 2" handrail, and handrail system. The project area (dock/walkway) should match the surrounding area at the completion of the project. Inspect remaining poles on the west side for damage. All materials shall be marine-grade treated to match existing materials. Clay County is seeking a licensed and qualified Contractor to provide repairs to the structural components supporting of the damaged elevated boardwalk. Final completion shall be obtained thirty (30) days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The Contractor shall be assessed Liquidated Damages (LD) of $100 for each day past the final completion date set by the Contract. Pricing provided on the quote(s) must remain valid for thirty (30) days. The County reserves the right to approve all subcontractors for this contract. All applicable permits, fees, licenses, and final County and municipality inspections are the responsibility of and will be paid for by the successful Contractor.
