Township of Manalapan Roof Replacement for Manalapan Township Dpw Building and Senior Center Building Bids Must Be Accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond for 10% of the Total Bid Not to Exceed $20,000.00. the Bidder and All Listed Subcontractors Shall Comply With the Requirements of the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.j.s.a. 34:11-56.48 Et Seq. Pursuant to N.j.s.a. 34:11-56.25 Et Seq., Contractors on Projects for Public Work Shall Adhere to All Requirements of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act. Bids Must Be on the Proposal Sheets Furnished by Michael V. Testa, Architect, Llc, Enclosed in a Sealed Envelope and Addressed to the Office of the Municipal Clerk, Township of Manalapan, 120 Route 522 & Taylors Mills Road, Manalapan, New Jersey 07726. Sealed Envelope Should Indicate Bid Being Answered and Name of Bidders the Contract Shall Be Awarded, or All Bids Rejected, Within 60 Days From the Receipt of Bids or Within Such Extension of Time as Permitted by Law. the Right is Reserved to Reject Any and All Bids, to Increase or Decrease Quantities to Be Purchased, or to Waive Any Informalities in the Bids and Accompanying Documents Received. 1. Complete removal of the existing main roof system, underlayment, ice protection, sealants, and flashings down to existing plywood sheathing. All related trims, gutters, and leaders to be removed in their entirety and properly disposed. The removal of the existing roof system shall be coordinated with the installation of the new roofing system to prevent exposure to weather conditions and potential water infiltration into the building. 2. All existing vent pipes, exhaust fans and any rooftop equipment are to remain unless otherwise noted on drawings. 3. Re-roofing of the main building with Timberline HDZ Asphalt roof shingles as manufactured by GAF or approved equal. Roofer shall indicate manufacturer of asphalt roofing shingles used in their bid. The entire roof system shall include synthetic underlayment, GAF or approved equal ice protection membrane. 4. Inspect existing wood decking and rafter tails for rot/deterioration; replaced as required. Resecure existing decking if necessary. Provide new rafter tails to match and align with existing adjacent. 5. The contractor shall supply a UL Class 'A' fire rated roof system. 6. Provide proper pre-coated galvanized steel (or aluminum) flashings at all penetrations, side wall, chimneys, etc. Specify material and gauge being used with 24 gauge as minimum requirement. 7. All pipe vents, ventilation fans, roof top units, chimneys, etc. must have new flashing installed as per manufacturers details and specifications. 8. Inspect all existing vents, pipes and flanges and replace them if required. 9. Install 24-gauge minimum drip edge along roof perimeter as indicated on drawings. 10. All satellite dishes, cable and/or internet wires hanging, exposed on the roof and all light fixtures from roof will be removed and reinstalled to eliminate any impediment so that the contractor can perform his work. 11. Magnetically sweep the entire perimeter of the building to remove any fasteners and debris at the end of each workday. 12. Provide protection for vegetation, lawns, decks, sidewalks, driveways, and other property during the project. 13. Provide protective tarps to protect the building from water damage in the event of a sudden rainstorm during the project. 14. Provide warranties for labor, workmanship, and manufacturer's material.
