ROCK SALT for calendar year (2024), to be used for water softening by the New Carlisle Water Treatment Plant. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked "ROCK SALT BID" and be accompanied by a bid bond, or by a certified or cashier's check on a solvent bank, in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, made payable to the City of New Carlisle, Ohio. Such bid bond or check shall be furnished as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into. A performance bond in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the contract price, with satisfactory surety / sureties, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned within ten (10) days after contract award. Any provisions attached to the bid will be liable to render it informal and may cause its rejection. The City of New Carlisle reserves the right to hold all bids for sixty (60) days, if necessary
