Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Torrance, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

This project is designed to provide scheduled maintenance to existing asphalt paved roadways. In areas where ponding occurs, some curb, gutter, sidewalk and tree removal/replacements will be performed prior to pavement repairs. Areas requiring additional pavement improvement will include dig-outs or cold milling and overlay. Cold milling and overlay requires the removal of the top layer (typically 2 inches) of a street and replacing it with a new layer of bituminous pavement. The cold milling and overlay process requires full closures of streets for approximately 9 to 10 hours to allow for preparation of work (e.g. street sweeping and setting up traffic control), cold milling and overlay, material curing, and clean-up. No vehicles will be allowed on the street until the work is complete. The Engineer's estimate of the contract total is between $17,750,000 and $18,750,000. All work shall be completed within 200 working days from the date of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
