Spring tree planting of three Small Scale Salvage units, A98017, A97697, and A97591: Estimated planting of a total of 15,535 to 17,510 trees on 10.8 to 15.3 ha. These plantings are to take place in the Burton, Whatshan, and Deep Creek areas. Specific details will be provided before tender close date. SSS A98017 (Burton) has three patches, which total 7 hectares in size. It is possible that all three patches require planting, however a ground assessment will be conducted prior to tender close date to determine the accurate amount of plantable ground. Patch 1 has 3-4 hectares, Patch 2 has 1 hectare, and Patch 3 has 2.5 hectares. This site is to be planted at an 800 sph density with teabag fertilizer. All patches are within approximately 45 minutes of Nakusp. SSS A97697 (Deep Creek) has three patches with 3.5 hectares of remaining plantable area dispersed throughout. Planting density is 1400 sph and is to be planted with teabag fertilizer. This site is immediately off of Highway 6 and is within 1 hour and 15 minutes of Nakusp. SSS A97591 (Whatshan) has two patches, with up to 5 hectares of plantable area in Patch 1. Planting density 1400 sph, seedlings to be planted with teabag fertilizer. This site is within 1 hour and 15 minutes of Nakusp. The estimated contract period will be 3 month(s).
