The work includes the furnishing of all labor, material and equipment necessary or required to complete all work set forth in these Specifications and shown on the Plans. Remove the existing two (2) submersible sewage pumps and replace with new, high-efficiency pumps that meet the required specifications and capacity. Install new guide rails and base 90 to properly secure and align the submersible sewage pumps within the designated pump station. Provide and install a lighting ring and chain system to facilitate the removal of the pumps. Ensure that proper electrical wiring connections are made, including power supply and control wiring. Install a new backup controller system in the event of primary controller failure. Implement a bypass pumping system to maintain continuous flow and prevent any disruption to the wastewater system during the project. Alternate Bid - 4th Street Pump Station Thoroughly clean the interior of the concrete wet well, removing debris, sediment, or contaminants that may have accumulated over time. Ensure a clean and prepared surface for subsequent work. Identify and address any structural or surface defects in the concrete, including cracks, spalling, or deterioration. Perform necessary repairs using industry-standard materials and techniques. apply a high-quality epoxy coating to the interior surface of the wet well. The epoxy coating should provide a protective barrier against corrosion and chemical exposure, enhancing the longevity of the structure. Implement a bypass pumping system to maintain continuous flow and prevent and disruption to the wastewater system during the project. Plans, Specifications and forms of bid for the proposed work prepared by the Alaimo Group, Municipal Engineer, have been filed in the office of said ENGINEER, at 200 High Street, Mount Holly, New Jersey, and may be inspected by prospective bidders during the regular business hours. Bids must be made on the standard Proposal form in the manner designated therein and must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the Township of Barnegat, and must be accompanied by Certified Check, Bid Bond or Cashier's Check drawn to the order of the Township of Barnegat for ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid, provided said security need not be more than $20,000.00. All bid guarantees shall be accompanied by an executed consent from an approved surety company, licensed to conduct business in the State of New Jersey, agreeing to furnish the required Performance and Maintenance Bond upon the award of contract. The signed Proposal forms and bid security must be delivered to the place and on or before the hour named above. The accepted bidder must sign the contract within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award or forfeit his bid security. Bid securities will be returned to all but the three apparent lowest responsible bidders. All other bid securities will be returned within three days after awarding and signing of the contract and approval of the Contractor's Performance Bond, Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays excepted. This contract is subject to the provisions of the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 (Affirmative Action Law); P.L. 2004, c.57 (Business Registration Act); and P.L. 2003, c.91 (Public Works Contractor Registration Act). Sealed bids for this project are being solicited through a fair and open process in accordance with N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5 et seq. The right is reserved to reject any or all Proposals, in whole or in part, or to make awards to such bidder or bidders who, in the judgment of the Township of Barnegat is the lowest responsible bidder and to waive such informalities as may be permitted by law.
