Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Basehor, Kansas. Working plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The City of Basehor, Kansas ("City") owns a 40-acre tract in what is known as "Basehor Town Center". The tract is shown on the attached exhibit and is labeled "Multi-Family/Apartments". The property is within a Tax Increment Financing district, wherein a portion of paid real estate taxes will be available to reimburse the Developers for agreed infrastructure costs. The City is interested in selling the tract to a multiple family residential developer for development into one or more types of multiple family housing offerings (apartments, attached homes, etc.). For purposes of this RFP, proposers may assume the property will be appropriately zoned for such use. The Developer will be expected to commit to a construction schedule to ensure that the project is promptly commenced and completed. Site Background & History: The site is wooded and contains several abandoned agricultural buildings; it was recently purchased by the City. The site will have all utilities available, including sanitary sewer. The site is accessed by Basehor Boulevard, a modern street with curbs, gutters, storm sewers and street lighting. Immediately south of the site is the Basehor-Linwood Intermediate School. This RFP does not commit the City of Basehor to accept any proposal or to enter into any contract. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any technicalities or irregularities, and to accept or negotiate any proposal it deems to be in the best interest of the City The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
