The project is expected to be awarded on December 13, 2023.** SMBSD is seeking Bids from qualified contractors to furnish and install engineered wood fiber at four elementary school sites per approved Bid Specifications and Scope of Work. Q&A Deadline November 16, 2023 5:00 PM (PST) Liquidated Damages $250 per day Start/Delivery Date Start: January 2, 2024, If Contract, Bonds, & Insurance are in order. (Anticipated Board Approval 12/13/23) Project Duration 4 Calendar Days The Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work for the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract. Copies of schedules of rates so determined are available on the Internet. This Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. In bidding on this project, it shall be the Bidder's sole responsibility to evaluate and include the cost of complying with all labor compliance requirements under this contract and applicable law in its bid. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding process. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids Each Bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid bond by a guaranty company authorized to conduct business in the State of California, in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the sum of the total amount of the bid, including any options. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the contract before commencement of work and conforming to the contract documents as well as furnish and maintain proof of Commercial General Liability Insurance, Workers' Compensation Insurance, and all other insurance or certifications as required by the contract documents. The Santa Maria-Bonita School District adopted the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (UPCCAA) in April 2009. This allows the School District to informally Bid small construction and maintenance projects with estimated costs of $60,000 to $200,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Request for Approved Alternate (Exhibit B) and all supporting documentation must be submitted through Q&A tab no later than November 14, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.
