Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Saltillo, Mississippi. Design plans call for the construction of a 3,500-square-foot, two-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

As of June 16, 2025, an architect has been identified. This project is currently in the pre-design phase, and the scope of work will include the predesign, design and later complete construction of a new, fully functional city fire station, which is anticipated to be a two (2) bay, two (2) story structure, approximately 3,500 square feet in size, to be located on an approximately 1.2 acre parcel, with an approximate budget of $1,700,000.00. The services to be rendered will include assistance in the pre-design phase, design phase, construction phase and closeout phase, including overseeing and evaluating costs and expenses, construction scheduling, construction quality, and day-to-day site operations. All submissions must contain a completed IRS Form W-9, as well as documentation setting forth the specific qualifications of each applicant, which should include a statement and supporting documents as to the following evaluation criteria: (1) company overview (including address, telephone number and date of formation of company and total number and designation of professional staff); (2) architecture experience (include relevant details as to education, experience and training and details as to work on any former similar projects); (3) key project personnel / project organization (identify any other key personnel or proposed professionals to be used in the project and their intended roles and reporting responsibilities); (4) project approach (include a statement as to the applicant's under- standing of the proposed project and as to how their experience and expertise would be beneficial to the city from the standpoints of quality, performance and cost); and (5) familiarity and experience, if any, with state purchasing laws and related state and federal ARPA / SLFRF matching requirements. Once proposals have been opened and reviewed, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen reserve the right to conduct final interviews with some or all applicants, at their discretion, and will then determine the appropriate applicant to be engaged as the primary professional for this project. Applicants selected for final interviews will be notified by no later than 5:00 PM on December 8, 2023. The board reserves the right to reject any and all submissions. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
