As of January 2, 2024, the project has not been awarded. A timeline for award has not been confirmed. The Floyd County Board of Commissioners are seeking sealed bids for the purpose of the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport - Runway 1/19 and Partial Parallel Taxiway Extension Paving, Lighting, and Marking Package. for 1,005 feet. The scope of work generally consists of excavation and embankment formation (approx. 40,000 cubic yards), bituminous pavement construction (approx. 10,000 tons of asphalt over 9,000 cubic yards of crushed aggregate base course), installation of runway and taxiway edge lighting, guidance signage, and associated components, and installation of pavement marking and grooving, as well as installation and maintenance of various erosion control measures. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid. All bonds must be signed or countersigned by a Georgia Resident Agent. A Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the bid, and a Labor Materials Payment Bond in the amount of not less than the amount of said Bid, one hundred percent (100%), shall be furnished by the successful bidders. Construction must begin within 10 days from the date of receipt of the Notice to Proceed, as evidenced by official receipt of certified mail or acknowledgement of personal delivery, and must be completed within allotted time, within Two Hundred Forty (240) consecutive calendar days, from and including the date of receipt of such notice. The deadline for requests for information or questions is 5:00 PM (local time) on Tuesday, November 24, 2023. The Airport Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and to re-advertise.
