The Project consists of the construction of the following types of work: 1. Repair and securement of existing windows as described in the Contract Documents. 2. Securement of parapet perimeter stones as described in the Contract Documents. 3. Provisions for working with lead paint on window frames and repainting those areas. See testing results for toxins as described in Attachment C, at the end of this section. 4. Relocation of removed parapet stones to basement area. DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. Scope of demolition and removal work is shown on drawings. B. Scope of alterations work is shown on drawings and/or as specified herein. C. Site modifications: None. D. Architectural/Structural modifications: Repair of existing operable window units noted, repair and fixing in place of units no longer desirable to be operable, and the addition of structural ties to parapet stones to prevent separation. o Start of Construction - June 1, 2024 o Substantial Completion - Aug. 15, 2024 o Final Completion - January 15, 2025 Questions concerning this solicitation must be received by: DATE: 1/26/2024 TIME: 12:00 PM BID SURETY. Where bid surety is required, bidder must furnish a bid bond or certified check for 5% of the bid total with the bid, or for such other amount as may be specified. Bids submitted without a required bid surety will not be considered. PERFORMANCE BONDS. Where indicated, successful bidder must furnish a 100% performance bond and labor and payment bond for contracts subject to Title 37 Chapters 12 and 13 of the Rhode Island General Laws. All bonds must be furnished by a surety company authorized to conduct business in the State of Rhode Island. Performance bonds must be submitted within 21 calendar days of the issuance of a tentative notice of award. The University Purchasing Department reserves the right, at any time, for any reason, in its sole discretion, to: (i) revoke, suspend, or terminate this solicitation; (ii) accept or reject any and all bid proposals, in whole or in part; (iii) waive any technical defects, irregularities, or omissions in any bid proposals; and/or (iv) terminate any contract awarded pursuant to this solicitation, with or without cause.
