Demolition, site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Newport, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a 14,500-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility.
SUMMARY OF WORK General Construction shall consist of demolition of existing toilet areas and renovation of those areas to include new plumbing fixtures and piping, new toilet accessories, new toilet partitions, and associated finishes and improvements. The work shall include plumbing, HVAC; and electrical work as well as removal of existing utilities encountered in the work which are to be abandoned. The Purpose of the Meeting Will Be to Review Bid Plans and Specifications and to Review the Project. Contractor's Must Have a Representative Sign the Prebid Attendance Sheet to Be Eligible to Bid on the Project. If, during the bidding period, the Bidder finds discrepancies, ambiguities, omissions, or is in doubt as to meaning or intent of documents, he shall notify the Architect Question Deadline 11/20/2023 Furnish all labor, materials and equipment and perform all work necessary to construct the above referenced project as specified herein and shown on the accompanying drawings, The Work shall be constructed complete and ready for occupancy, except for the items specifically excluded in "Work Not Included" or noted "Not In Contract (NIC)". The work shall include plumbing, HVAC; and electrical work as shown. Perform all work required to accomplish demolition of indicated areas in the existing building. Remove all existing utilities encountered in the work which are to be abandoned. Perform all renovation work in existing buildings as shown on the drawings and as specified herein. General Construction shall consist of demolition of existing toilet areas and renovation of those areas to include new plumbing fixtures and piping, new toilet accessories, new toilet partitions, and associated finishes and improvements The building consists of three stories. The 5th- 8th grade areas have exteriormasonry walls and interior wood frame construction. The 4th grade area has exterior masonry walls and bar joist can concrete floor son metal deck construction. The building is classified by the International Building Code as "Educational". Parts of the building used for congregating or gathering of 100 or more persons shall be classified as "Assembly - Group A" (IBC 06-302.1) Construction in the three story wood framed area shall be classified as Type IIIB Construction. The area of the 4th floor toilet shall be classified as Type II B. Both areas are sprinklered throughout. The work of this contract does not and any new construction, modify the current building use, or change the building capacity
