Chamberlayne Ave Traffic Signals Project. Receipt Location: City Hall, 900 East Broad Street, 11th Floor, Room 1104. The City of Richmond is accepting bids for the construction of two traffic signals to provide general contracting services that include but are not limited to removal of existing traffic signal equipment, relocation existing signal equipment, installation of traffic signal poles foundations and mast arm poles, conduits, junction boxes, traffic signal heads, pedestrian signal indicator (countdown), signage, sidewalk, wheelchair ramps, pavement markings, and other traffic related equipment. As the time allotted for the completion of the Work is of the essence, if the work is not completed within specified time for the completion of the Work, there shall be deducted from the contract price, not as a penalty but as liquidated damages, $600.00 for each and every calendar day of delay in the completion of the work beyond the time specified, subject to all the terms of the General Conditions. Scope of Work The scope of work will include, but not limited to limited to the removal of existing traffic signal equipment, relocation existing signal equipment, installation of traffic signal poles, conduits, junction boxes, traffic signal heads, pedestrian signal indicator (countdown), signage, sidewalk, wheelchair ramps, pavement markings, and other traffic related equipment. If accepted by the Owner, the Bidder shall execute the contract and furnish, satisfactory to the Owner, a Performance Bond and Payment Bond for labor and materials in accordance with the General Conditions of the Contract unless so stated elsewhere in the bid documents. Bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount set forth in item 14 of this Bid Form. In submitting this bid, it is understood that the City of Richmond, Virginia, reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to award in whole or in part as determined to be in the best interest of the City. It is agreed that this Bid may not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days from the opening there of The City of Richmond also reserves the right to reject any or all bids/proposals, in whole or in part, to waive informalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the City of Richmond to be in its best interest.
