The City of Nashua, Division of Public Works, is seeking bids for the NHSS Pedestrian Bridge Project. This project involves construction of a new pedestrian bridge near Nashua High School South, immediately west of the High School's athletic fields to provide connectivity between Mine Falls Park and the school. The proposed pedestrian bridge consists of a 110' span prefabricated steel truss with a concrete deck. The new substructure will be constructed behind the former bridge abutments and will consist of reinforced concrete abutment on helical piles. All pathways to the new pedestrian bridge will be paved as shown in the drawings and disturbed slopes will be loamed, seeded and replanted with trees as shown in the drawings. Once the replacement bridge is constructed the temporary bridge will be removed and relocated to the Rotary Park as shown on the included Main Street Rotary Park Conceptual Plan. Hoyle Tanner will design the bridge substructure and provide plans to the contractor. Pay items intended to be used are included as bid Add Alternate No. 1 and it is expected that quantities will vary upon completion of the design. Substantial Completion for the entire Contract shall be by August 15, 2025. Substantial completion is defined in Section 1.01 of the General Terms and Conditions. Final completion shall be September 12, 2025. Liquidated damages of $1,700 for each working day will be assessed for delays beyond the established dates for substantial completion and final completion. The City of Nashua, through the Mayor, who is the awarding authority, reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts of bids; to waive any defects, information, and minor irregularities; to accept exceptions to these specifications; to award contracts or to cancel this request if in the City's best interest.
