Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 3,730-square-foot educational facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Work includes, but is not limited to, interior and minor exterior renovations of approximately 3,730 sf. at existing shop/classroom area located at first floor level. The work includes interior renovation of existing shop/classroom and provide office space with two (2) toilets. Existing garage doors two (2) numbers, located on the south side are removed and the opening is infilled with new window and wall assembly to match existing adjacent size, details, texture, color, and finish. Interior finishes include but are not limited to LVT, sealed concrete, ACT, etc. A new exit is added on the north wall and a new ADA ramp is provided. Complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for this area of work will be included. Site work includes providing new concrete slab at existing exterior door and new 10'-0" high chain link fence with razor wire around the new proposed ramp. Bids are hereby being solicited as A single lump sum contract. It is the intent of the Owner to award a single contract to the lowest, best, responsive, responsible Bidder provided the Bid has been submitted in accordance with the requirements of the Bidding Documents, is judged to be reasonable, and does not exceed the funds available. Questions about the meaning or intent of the Bid Documents shall be directed to the Architect, in writing, via facsimile. Responses to request for information or interpretations will be made in the event that clarifications or alterations to the submitted requests are deemed by the Architect or the Owner. Requests for clarifications or information will not be accepted within seven working days of the bid date. Only answers issued by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety company licensed to do business in the State of Tennessee, or certified check made payable to the Owner in an amount equal to 5% of the bid will be required. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bid security will be returned to all bidders upon award of the Contract or rejection of the bids. A Guaranty Bond in the form of a Performance/Labor and Material Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Bid Contract Sum will be required. Subcontractors for mechanical, plumbing, electrical, roofing, sprinkler, site grading are to submit AIA Document A305, Contractors Qualification Statement, modified to exclude section 5 Financing. Subcontractors shall make this submission November 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. to the Rutherford County Board of Education, attention Trey Lee. A list of successfully qualified subcontractors will be included in the addendum to the bid documents. The successful bidder must provide a complete list of proposed sub-contractors within 10 calendar days of receipt of the Notice of Award. The Owner reserves the right to verify compliance of selected subcontractors and accept or refuse the services of the identified subcontractors to be used. Bidding shall be in accordance with the Tennessee General Contractors License Law. Bidders on construction in the amount of $25,000.00 or more must be a licensed Contractor as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1976, Public Chapter No. 822 of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee, amended by Public Chapter 406, Public Acts 1977, and further amended by House Bill No. 2507 and approved May 10, 1994 including the most current amendments. On the face of the bidding envelope, the Bidder shall present the following information: The Project name and Owners Bid Number. The Bidders name, license number and date of expiration. Classification for type of work involved. The date and time of opening. The name, license number and date of expiration for the following subcontractors: Masonry, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and roofing. Without this information appearing on the face of the envelope, the bid will not be opened. As a reminder, the full licensed name of each of the subcontractors as licensed by the State of Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors must be listed on the outside of the bidding envelope. Bidders are encouraged to confirm that their subcontractors are properly licensed with the State of Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors and to confirm the name of each subcontractor listed on the outside of the bid envelope matches the name as licensed by the State of Tennessee. AFFIDAVITS: The Criminal Background Compliance Affidavit and the Drug-Free Workplace Affidavit are required to be completed and enclosed within the Bid Envelope. See pages following the Bid Form for these affidavits. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE, and if awarded this Contract, the undersigned shall provide all of the labor, materials, equipment, and services required to complete the Work of this Project on or before 90 days from owner notice to proceed. As part consideration in this Contract, the undersigned agrees to pay Liquidated Damages as described in the Supplementary General Conditions 230615
