Demolition, site work, asbestos abatement, renovation and addition to a fire / police facility in Middletown, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the addition of a 2,410-square-foot fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the renovation of a 2,300-square-foot fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; and for asbestos abatement for a fire / police facility.
Milestone Construction Project Number E23-089 1. Sealed bids for the bid packages listed below for Middletown South Fire District Renovations & Addition Project will be received. 2. Bids shall be either hand-delivered or mailed to the above address by the due date and time. Oral, email, or telephone proposals will not be accepted. Late Bids will not be accepted. Bids should be submitted in an opaque envelope labeled as follows: Ref: Middletown South Fire District Addition & Renovations Phase II on envelope and the bid package number and description. If bidding multiple bid packages, please note that each bid package should be in a separate clearly marked envelope with the bid package description clearly noted. 3. The contracts to be awarded are subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. Bidders must complete the 'Notification to Bidders/Contract Compliance Monitoring Form' and submit with your bid. This form can be found in the Milestone FTP site (see Item 8). 4. If your bid exceeds $100,000.00, please provide a separate cost to furnish a Performance & Payment Bond. 5. Prevailing Wage Rates apply for this project. A schedule of current rates will be included in the Milestone FTP site (see Item 8). 6. The project scope includes, but is not necessarily limited to: Abatement/Selective Demolition and Renovation of Approximately 2,300 Square Feet of the Existing Building, and a 2,410 Square-Foot Addition. Construction will be carried out as per the documents contained in the link below. Work has been divided into the following bid packages: Bid Package Number Bid Package Description 02-A Abatement & Selective Demolition 03-A Building Concrete 04-A Masonry 06-A Rough Carpentry: Wood Framing, Roof Trusses, Sheathing; Windows & Exterior Doors (Furnish & Install) 06-B Interior Architectural Casework (including Stone Tops) 07-A Dampproofing & Insulation 07-B Roofing & Sheet Metal (including Tubular Skylight) 07-C Fiber-Cement Siding & Exterior Trimwork 09-A General Trades: Drywall; Interior Doors, Frames & Hardware; Signage; Operable Partition; Toilet, Bath & Laundry Accessories; Fire Extinguishers & Cabinets; Drop-Box Pass- Through Chute Bid Package Number Bid Package Description 09-B Acoustical Ceilings 09-C Finish Flooring & Tile 09-D Painting 21-A Fire Protection 22-A Plumbing 23-A H.V.A.C. 26-A Electrical 31-A Site Work (including Site Concrete & Lawns/Grasses) This project is being performed under the Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) form of construction. With respect to this project, the Construction Manager is the representative of the Owner. Each Trade Contractor's contract shall be with the Construction Manager. The Owner has contracted with Milestone Construction Services, LLC to serve as the CMR. 10. Bids must be hand delivered or mailed. Oral, email, or telephone proposals will not be accepted. 11. All bids shall stand available for acceptance for a period of sixty (60) days from the date proposals are received. 12. The Owner and/or Construction Manager reserve the right, to reject any or all bids, without stating reasons therefore, including without limitation the right to reject any or all non-conforming, non-responsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids and to reject the bid of any bidder if the Owner and/or Construction Manager believes that it would not be in the best interest of the Owner or the project to make an award to that bidder, whether because the bid is not responsive or the bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by the Owner and/or Construction Manager. The Owner and/or Construction Manager reserve the right to waive informalities and to negotiate contract terms with one or more bidders without re-opening the bidding process insofar as such negotiations are not violative of applicable competitive bidding statutes or law. In evaluating bids, the Owner and/or Construction Manager will consider the qualifications of the bidder, whether the bids comply with the prescribed requirements, and such alternates, unit prices and other data as may be requested in the form of bid or prior to notice of award. The Owner and/or Construction Manager may consider the qualification and experience of subcontractors and other persons and organizations proposed for those portions of the work as to which the identity of subcontractors and other persons and organizations must be submitted as provided by the bid documents. The Owner and/or Construction Manager reserve the right to require, prior to notice of award, a statement of facts in detail of the business and technical organization and plant of the bidder available for the contemplated work, including financial resources, present commitments, and experience of the bidder in performance of comparable work. 13.
