Description: The RFP includes three (3) Aggregate Classes ("AC"). The ACs include AC 1 Bronx and Manhattan (Districts 1-12), AC 2 Queens (Districts 24-30), and AC 3 Brooklyn Richmond (Districts 13-23, 31, and 32). The DOE requires the services of civil engineering consultants with expertise in maintenance and repair of buildings in New York City with particular expertise in the maintenance and alteration of buildings of various ages built under various historical building codes. The contracted vendor will determine and evaluate DOE buildings, system conditions, identify sources of structural problems, evaluate repair methods, and perform services related to the work as requested by the DOE. The vendor will also ensure that DOE buildings comply with current building codes, provide estimates for remediation work, and make relevant recommendations. Structural evaluations will include analyses of findings and suggested budgetary calculations for the work recommended. This Proposal will be evaluated by a three-member evaluations committee that will be comprised of two (2) DOE employees from DSF and one (1) professional engineer. The committee will use the criteria listed on the following page to evaluate each vendor. These services are being contracted out because the DOE does not have the appropriate licenses or trained staff to perform this work. The contract estimate is based on the previous three (3) years of usage and the anticipated increases of expenditures for the same services.
